I went into this sculpt knowing I wanted a zombie head that looked like he was rising up from the ground…digging his way to freedom. The different eye treatments evolved as the sculpt progressed and the maggots were almost an afterthought. I wasn’t even sure the tiny maggots would work in the molds since the clay pieces would be so small. I’m glad we gave it a shot because they turned out pretty gnarly. Unfortunately, they’re also pretty expensive (sorry…we did the best we could on the price!). For something so small, they’re incredibly time-consuming to make, apply and glaze.
When we were deciding on colors, I was inspired by the toys I grew up with in the 80s/90s like MOTU, TMNT, GPK and Madballs. That colorful, over-the-top style made a big impression on me as a kid and has definitely influenced the art I make as an adult.
I can’t wait for y’all to meet Mac’s partner in crime and the love of his undead life…but she won’t be available until 2027.
Mac is our first attempt at offering a customizable zombie mug. If this release goes well, and the custom options don’t throw off production too much, I’d love to offer more mugs like this in the future.

Due to the organic nature of the glaze and high firing temperature, small pinholes caused by the kiln firings may be present on the exterior and/or interior.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: All international collectors will be required to choose DHL International shipping. Although more expensive, DHL is the most reliable international shipping carrier and offers reasonable delivery times with accurate tracking. Any overage charges in shipping fees due to miscalculations during checkout (it happens sometimes) will be refunded once the item ships.
